Privacy notice

The short version
Night Agent runs on your computer. Your firewall credentials, device configurations, snapshots and upgrade logs stay on that machine. We never receive them, and there is no mechanism in the product for us to.
This notice covers two separate things: information you give us through this website, and the small amount of information the installed software sends for licensing.
Information you give us on this website
If you complete the early-access form we collect your name, work email address, company name, and optionally the size of your firewall estate, whether you use Panorama, and any notes you add.
Why
To contact you about Night Agent, issue a trial license, and provide support. That is the only purpose.
What we will not do with it
- Sell, rent or share it with third parties for their own marketing
- Add you to a newsletter you did not ask for
- Use it to build a profile of you across other sites
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it, or until it is clear you are not interested and a reasonable period has passed. Email hello@cedrisnetworks.com to have your details removed.
This website
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers. Nothing about your visit is recorded beyond the standard server logs kept by our hosting provider.
The early-access form submits to a third-party form-handling service, which processes the information you enter in order to deliver it to us.
The installed software
What it sends
The application validates your license periodically against our license server. That request contains your license key and an identifier for the machine it is installed on, so that a license can be tied to an activation.
Where a license covers a limited number of devices — trial licenses do — the application sends a SHA-256 hash of each device's serial number the first time it operates on that device, so that the devices covered can be counted. The serial number itself is never sent and cannot be recovered from the hash. The hash is salted with your license identifier, so the same device under a different license produces an unrelated value and the two cannot be linked. A license with no device limit sends nothing of the kind.
The application also queries the public Palo Alto Networks security advisory service to report known vulnerabilities affecting the PAN-OS version on a device. That request contains a version number.
What it never sends
- Firewall credentials, in any form
- Device configurations or configuration backups
- Snapshots, upgrade logs, reports or run history
- Device IP addresses, hostnames or inventory
- Device serial numbers — only the salted hash described above, and only where the license limits how many devices it covers
- Usage analytics or telemetry of any kind
How credentials are stored on your machine
Saving credentials is optional. When you choose to, they are encrypted at rest using the operating system's own credential protection, scoped to your user account. They are never written to log files, never returned by any interface, and never rendered into a page. You can delete stored credentials at any time from within the application.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Contact hello@cedrisnetworks.com.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that affects you, we will contact people who have given us their email address rather than quietly updating the page.
