1. These terms
They cover your use of this website and of the Night Agent software. By using either, you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
2. License
Night Agent is licensed, not sold. A valid license grants your organisation a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the software for its own internal network operations, for as long as the license is valid.
Trial licenses
Trial licenses are time-limited and feature-limited, are for evaluation only, and may be withdrawn at any time.
What you may not do
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense or host the software as a service
- Reverse engineer it, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded
- Remove or circumvent licensing, or share a license key beyond your organisation
- Use it to access devices you are not authorised to administer
3. Your responsibilities
Night Agent performs privileged operations on production network infrastructure, including installing software and rebooting devices. You are responsible for:
- Holding the authority to make these changes on the devices you target
- Following your own change management process
- Maintaining independent backups and a rollback plan
- Reviewing pre-flight check results before proceeding with an upgrade
- Securing the machine the software runs on and the credentials you enter
4. No warranty
The software is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that an upgrade it performs will succeed on any given device. Firewall upgrades carry inherent risk, and features such as pre-flight checks, configuration backup and snapshots reduce that risk — they do not eliminate it.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption arising from use of the software. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
6. Third-party rights
Palo Alto Networks, PAN-OS and Panorama are trademarks of Palo Alto Networks, Inc. Night Agent is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Palo Alto Networks. Your use of Palo Alto Networks products remains governed by your agreements with them.
7. Termination
We may terminate a license for material breach of these terms. On termination you must stop using the software. Data the software created on your own machine remains yours.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated to licensed users rather than applied silently.
